A crypto whale showed a movement of weight sending $1.8 billion in Bitcoin between two portfolios in a single transaction.
The lone whale moved the 51,511 BTC. The transaction fee was 0.00002860 BTC - which is only 0.24 cents.
According to Blockstream's block tracker, the transaction saved 30% by using SegWit, but the fee would have been 16% cheaper if the sender had used the solution known as SegWit-Bech32.
This is the second Bitcoin mega transaction in one month. A different whale recently moved about 124.946,62234074 BTC.
Whale activity has increased as BTC becomes increasingly volatile.
