The Bitcoin ecosystem has looked to the Lightning Network as a solution to its scalability problem for a long time; the second layer payment protocol is known to facilitate fast transactions.
In a practical way, Bitcoin Lightning Network paves the way for bitcoin payments to be sent faster and cheaper.
In a recent interview, Litecoin founder Charlie Lee spoke about the Lightning Network and had a similar opinion. He said the Lightning network would help solve Bitcoin's scalability problem.
“LN saves a lot in fees and allows instant transactions. And we are seeing more and more adoption. I'm excited about where we're going with LN. It's slow and takes some time to perfect the system, but I think we'll start to see a lot more use of the lightning network in Bitcoin in the next few days.”
Commenting on Litecoin's Lightning Network, he said that although Litecoin had an LN installed, Bitcoin had a much greater need, as Bitcoin was “more congested”.
