I randomly bumped into this app that allows you to spend stablecoins in real life and decided to share it with the community. I believe it may come in handy in the future, if not now. I will share my experiences with the app and my thoughts on the features I have used so far.

What is RedotPay

On their website, they communicate their mission as “Empowering Global Payments with Stablecoins.” Basically, what the statement means is that they are making it possible for cryptocurrency holders to spend like they normally would with a regular bank card. This is the main reason why I gave the app a try. I was looking for a payment card that had a higher spending limit since my traditional bank card had a lower daily limit.

How it works

You need to download the app, which I find intuitive and easy to use. Deposit stablecoins and some selected cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc. For first-time users, you need to apply for a card. There are two options i.e., the virtual card, which costs $10, or the physical card, which also costs $100. Once you have the card, you should be able to spend from your crypto balance and withdraw from ATMs with your physical card. The virtual card can be added to Google Wallet and used for in-store purchases.

Some of the cool features

• Internal and international transfers: You can send crypto internally and FIAT to select countries. This means you can send crypto and receive FIAT into your bank account via SWIFT or IBAN.
• Earn: The earn feature allows users to earn interest on their stablecoins (USDT and USDC). This is a creative way to earn passively and spend cryptocurrency in one place.
• Swap: You can exchange between cryptocurrencies and FIATs inside the app. The process is fast and convenient.
• P2P: This is one of the recently added features to assist with the on- and off-ramps of cryptocurrency. It provides a secure way to buy and sell cryptocurrencies using FIAT.

RedotPay has been very helpful. I use it for most of my online purchases because of the added security, and the experience has been smooth so far.
