
According to a recent report, Australians can now grab some Bitcoin (BTC) at various post offices across the country. This development is as a result of a partnership between Australia Post and one of the popular Australian Cryptocurrency Exchange, Bitcoin.com.au
This initiative by both parties will allow Australian citizens to acquire digital currencies using FIAT and electronic funds transfer at point of sale payments. This is a great milestone achieved and will help drive the desired blockchain and cryptocurrency adoption.
CEO of Bitcoin.com.au, Holger Arians sees the strategic partnership as a means to offer customers a safe way to acquire cryptocurrency and also commend Australia Post for their cooperation and their keen interest immerging technologies. He said:
“For many people, paying for Bitcoin at an Australia Post office feels safer than transferring funds online—particularly for first-time buyers. We’re proud of this partnership and would like to thank Australia Post for their continued openness to new technologies.”
Customers who aren't conversant with the use of computers and the internet will now have a much confident and secure way to pay for Bitcoin. Susan Nicholson who is the Head of Business & Government Financial Services at Australia Post’s stated how the organization has been incorporating emerging to help serve their customer better:
“Post Billpay has been one of Australia’s most trusted bill payment methods for over 20 years, and we’re pleased to now provide the ability for Bitcoin bills to be paid at a post office, which will come with a product enhancement that offers ID verification and real-time bill payment confirmation back to the biller.”
With the issues of user privacy being a factor hindering the use of the internet, having to pay for your favorite crypto at nearby post offices is a good course that will encourage new entrants to space.
