XELIS is a live Layer-1 blockchain that uniquely combines privacy, scalability, and smart contract capability using a BlockDAG architecture and advanced cryptography.
The project has already launched mainnet (April 20, 2024) and continues to enhance core protocol features, including BlockDAG scalability, homomorphic encryption for confidential transactions, an ASIC-resistant PoW algorithm (XELIS Hash), and a native smart contract runtime (XVM) designed for secure, efficient decentralized programs.
Smart contracts were activated on mainnet in December 2025, enabling developers to build on a privacy-preserving blockDAG with dynamic network fee burns and faster block times. Confidential assets (private tokens) are supported, and tooling like the XVM Playground and Genesix wallet are being improved with multisig, better UX, and external wallet integration.
Key ecosystem expansions are actively in progress, such as the XELIS DEX (decentralized exchange) set to launch soon (planned for early January 2026), while hardware wallet support (e.g., Ledger app) and onboarding features are planned for future quarters. XELIS also continues strategic listings with centralized exchanges, increasing accessibility for users and liquidity providers. This combination of production-ready privacy, programmability, and developer tools positions XELIS as an innovative ecosystem in the Layer-1 space.
