There’s one trade I’ll never forget. Not because it made me money it didn’t. In fact, I lost more than I care to admit.
I’d watched a few hype videos, scrolled through Twitter, read a couple of bullish threads. Everything looked like a sure win.
So I went in heavy.
Within an hour, the price didn’t just dip it fell off a cliff.
I froze.
I told myself, Just wait, it’ll bounce back.
It didn’t.
By the time I finally sold, the loss was way bigger than I’d planned for. That’s when I realized something: I didn’t actually have a plan. I had hope.
Here’s what that trade taught me:
-
If your main reason for buying is “everyone’s talking about it,” you’re already too late.
-
If you don’t know exactly when you’ll sell, you’re not trading you’re gambling.
-
If you can’t admit you’re wrong quickly, your losses will teach you the hard way.
That one bad trade stung. But it also rewired how I approach the market.
Now, before I click “buy,” I make sure I have a real plan not just a wish.
