Post #56 – I Tried Trading Without Social Media for 30 Days .. Here’s What Happened

By XanonymousX | XELIS | 30 Jul 2025

I didn’t realize how much Twitter and Telegram controlled my trading until I stepped away.
Every trade I made was influenced by someone else’s chart, someone else’s “alpha,” or some hype thread that made me panic-buy.

So I decided:
30 days. No crypto Twitter. No Telegram groups. No Discord. No YouTube “experts.” Just me, charts, and my own brain.

Here’s what happened.

Week 1: The Silence Was Weird

The first few days felt… wrong.
No constant feed of “BTC breaking out” or “alt season is here.”
No memes, no noise, no dopamine hits.

I felt like I was missing everything.
But after a few days, I started to realize I wasn’t missing much.
Markets move slow. Hype moves fast.

Week 2: I Started Thinking For Myself

Without the noise, I actually looked at charts longer.
I noticed patterns I used to ignore because someone else already told me what to think.
I started planning trades calmly instead of reacting to the crowd.

The crazy part? My win rate went up.
Not by magic but because I wasn’t chasing every shiny thing.

Week 3: The FOMO Hit Hard (But I Fought It)

There were pumps I “missed.”
Normally, I’d have jumped in late and lost.
This time, I just watched.
And most of those pumps? They dumped right after.

It taught me that FOMO isn’t about missing out on gains. It’s about missing out on bad trades too.

Week 4: I Found Peace

By the last week, I was… calm.
Trading felt like trading, not gambling.
I wasn’t glued to my phone at 3am because someone tweeted “this is the bottom.”
I trusted myself more.

Final Thought

Social media isn’t evil.
But if you let it trade for you, you’ll always be late, emotional, and broke.

After 30 days, I’m back online but with filters.
I mute the noise.
I ignore the clowns.
And I trade my plan, not someone else’s.

If this made you think, tip if you feel it.
And maybe… try it yourself for a week. You’ll be surprised.

I started this space because I genuinely believe $XELIS is something special. It's one of those projects that caught my attention and just stuck with me — not just for the tech, but for what it stands for: privacy, decentralization, and doing things a little differently. This blog isn’t meant to be overly technical or full of hype. I just wanted a place to share what I’m learning, keep up with what’s happening in the ecosystem, and maybe connect with others who are just as curious (or confused!) as I was
