Post #24: Crypto Twitter Is Just High School With Charts

By XanonymousX | XELIS | 25 Jun 2025

I used to think Crypto Twitter was where the smartest minds in finance and tech gathered to share ideas.

Nope.

It’s high school.
But with less acne and more market manipulation.

Let me explain.

There Are Cliques

Just like high school, there are the popular kids — the influencers with thousands of followers who post the same recycled “alpha” and somehow still get 10k likes.

Then there’s the nerds: the devs and the auditors, actually building stuff, ignored until something breaks.

You’ve got the mean girls of CT too except instead of passing notes, they quote-tweet your L with “this aged well 💀.”

And let’s not forget the jocks: the loud meme lords who know nothing but still move markets because they’re entertaining.

There’s Gossip and Drama Every Day

He said she rugged.
They said that token’s a scam.
This influencer “sold out.”
That protocol “copied our idea.”
Someone got “exposed.”
Someone else “left the space for mental health.”

It’s never-ending.

Meanwhile, someone is rage tweeting because their bags are down 8%.
Another guy's flexing his gains with a lifestyle photo he took in 2021.

And we’re all just watching it unfold like:

Everyone Pretends to Know Everything

Every day, there’s a new “expert.”
New tokens, new trends, new chains, new tech.

People learned about EigenLayer two days ago and are now making threads like:
“Why You’re Already Late (Unless You Read This).”

You ask a simple question, and 12 anons show up to call you a noob.

And deep down… nobody really knows what they’re doing.
They’re just louder about it.

There's a Popularity Economy

Truth doesn’t go viral.
Confidence does.

It’s not “are you right?”
It’s “do you sound like you’re right?”

And if you post humble analysis or thoughtful questions — forget it.
Zero engagement. Crickets.

But say “this coin is going to $1000 by next week” with some rocket emojis and conviction?
Boom. You’re a star.

But Somehow... We Still Show Up

Because even though CT is messy, loud, and full of ego… it’s also alive.

You find your people.
You learn fast.
You get humbled.
You get better.

And sometimes in between the memes and meltdowns — you stumble across something real.

A dev dropping wisdom.
A project that actually matters.
A stranger helping you avoid a rug.

And suddenly, high school doesn’t seem so bad.

Final Thought

Crypto Twitter is wild, chaotic, immature and weirdly addicting.

You can hate it.
You can love it.
But you can’t ignore it.

So if you’re in this digital high school with the rest of us — tip this post, retweet it, or just nod silently like we all do when someone posts “gm” at 4am.

See you in the hallway.

I started this space because I genuinely believe $XELIS is something special. It's one of those projects that caught my attention and just stuck with me — not just for the tech, but for what it stands for: privacy, decentralization, and doing things a little differently. This blog isn’t meant to be overly technical or full of hype. I just wanted a place to share what I’m learning, keep up with what’s happening in the ecosystem, and maybe connect with others who are just as curious (or confused!) as I was
