I initially was going to call this post, “why DAOs will win,” but reconsidered as I tended towards hyperbole. And yes, there are probably times when a centralized entity may actually be better.
However, and what got me going this morning, was spending some time on the DeepDAO site.
Imagine being able to go to a site and see the following information about ANY public company, at any time.
- how many shareholders there are
- which shareholders voted on which proposals and how they voted
- how big the treasury is
- what the makeup of the corporate treasury is
- how many shareholders had made proposals
- which shareholders have interests in other companies (e.g. cross-ownership)
and to do it all in real-time while being 100% confident that the numbers are accurate, because you have access to the authenticated, verified source data yourself.
That’s what you can do with the DeepDAO site and with any Web3 organization.
I just have to believe that this kind of information is, ultimately, going to offer a value premium over “traditional” organizations where this type of information isn’t available 24/7 nor is it guaranteed to be accurate and verifiable.
