DAO Political Muscle

DAO Political Muscle

tl;dr: Will the first mainstream application of DAOs be for lobbying?

Recently, a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) donated $4 million tCoin Center (a Washington DC-based government educational firm).

I don’t know for a fact, but I think it is the first time that a DAO has, collectively, made such a gesture.

It makes me wonder whether we are going to start seeing a heck of a lot more of this type of crypto-native political activism.

Especially because we are in the “now, they fight you” (violent opposition) phase of the Web 3.0 revolution.

Regulators listen/take their orders from politicians.

Politicians listen to money.

DAOs have money.

It seems to me that it’s only a matter of time before DAOs become a force with which to be reckoned on the “meatspace” political landscape.

One of the winners will be Senator Lummis from Wyoming. Senator Warren is going to be a loser in the crypto donation game.

It’s not going to be Democrats vs. Republican. It’s going to be pro-crypto/financial innovation vs. status quo/incumbent protection.
