Here’s my thoughts
Myself, I’m more looking forward to the new MacBooks with the M1X/M2 Apple Silicon in-house chips. However, there’s some aspects of this year’s September event I was somewhat intrigued in.
That being the Apple Watch Series 7
Oh boy… here we go. My thoughts:
- New auto-bike features with workout app/function. Fall detection too… interesting.
- E-bike algorithms too, neat.
- What… they didn’t go with flat edges?!?! The rumors were wrong?!?!
- screen-to-body ratio is much bigger, that’s nice.
- 40% thinner borders = bigger screen.
- Softer corners…?
- 70% brighter in always-on mode?
- Buttons are bigger, more texts can be displayed on screen.
- Full keyboard! With SLIDING FEATURE! JUST LIKE IPHONE! YAAASSS!
- New modular face is neat and even more detailed
- IP6X dust resistance! Woot! WR50 water resistance too!
- USB-C fast charging?!?!?! WOOT!
- Charges 33% faster than series 6. Noice.
- SERIES 3. IS. STILL. STICKING. AROUND.
- Series 7 starts at a decent price for the aluminum models. $399 US.
- Car keys and home keys! Woot!
Overall, as you can probably tell, I’m decently whelmed. Not sure if I can say that I’m overwhelmed by the new product launch, but USB-C charging capabilities coupled with a full, on-screen keyboard brings it awfully close!
On the other hand, I’m glad I’ll still be able to update my aging Series 3 to watchOS 8 as well.
Now, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get myself an Apple Silicon MacBook. So I can be snuggled into the Apple ecosystem like a nice, warm blanket on a winter’s night.
