Feed the Machine

Photo by Simon Kadula on Unsplash

A systematic poem

The sweat
The toil
Torment and snares
The machine consumes all
It simply does not care

Automated efficiencies
KPIs galore
The machine rakes in profits
Weeding out what was laid before

For before was slow
Took its time
Left work in its box
To the machines, this was a crime

For what is time
But a chance to work
Another stone unturned
Another monetary perk

And so it came to pass
Before was put to rest
We just feed the machine
For it simply knows best
