Spearfishing Man Killed by Shark in Australia


A 36 year-old man was pronounced dead after being bitten on the leg by a shark while spearfishing near the Fraser Island of Queensland, Australia, marking the fourth fatal shark attack in Australian waters in 2020. According to officials, a doctor and nurse provided first aid treatment on the shore, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene when paramedics arrived. Police say that the victim's body was later transported by helicopter to the city of Hervey Bay.

Fraser Coast mayor George Seymour expressed his sorrows in a social media post, offering his condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
