Police forces in South Hedland, the Pilbara region, Australia, shot and killed a man after he slashed or stabbed 5 people at the South Hedland Square shopping center. Currently, two people are in serious condition. According to local media, police officers initially used a taser on the attacked, but the man was not stopped and later lunged at the officers.

The attack happened at about 10:00 local time, though the motive of the attack is still unknown.
