Dozens of Chinese and Indian soldiers exchanged physical blows and threw rocks during a clash on the shared border according to media outlets in the 2 nations. An army official from India states that 7 Chinese soldiers and 4 Indian soldiers were slightly injured near the Naku La sector in the state of Sakkim some 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) above sea level, and the clash was revolved after local commanders spoke to reduce tensions. The cause of the clash has not been reported.

Though China and India fought a war over the border in 1962, and it is not uncommon for physical stand-offs to occur between the troops of the two nations, no bullet has been fire across the border in the last 4 decades.
