About a third of the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle have been infected with the Covid-10 coronavirus. According to navy sources, 668 out of nearly 2,000 people have tested positive so far, and the number is expected to rise as about 30% of test results are not yet in.

Local French media have reported that the carrier returned to the port of Toulon about 10 days early from its Atlantic deployment after sailors began showing symptoms of the virus. Currently, about 20 sailors have been hospitalized while one is in intensive care. In total, over 106,000 people in France have tested positive for Covid-19 while over 7,100 are confirmed dead.
