The Italian Army is the ground component of the Italian armed forces, of which it is part together with the Navy, the Air Force and the Carabinieri, all dependent on the chief of staff of the defense and included in the defense ministry.

The Training Unit Grouping (RUA) is an operational structure of the Italian Army, directly dependent on the command for training and Application School.

It is based in Campania, in the city of Capua in a barracks named after Oreste Salomone, and its task is to coordinate the basic training of the troops volunteers of the Italian Army; the various voluntary training regiments (RAV) belong to it.

The military tradition of the 2nd Grenadiers began with the ancient Regiment of the Guards, formed on April 18, 1659, and is therefore associated with that of the 1st Grenadiers.

Formed on 13 July 1744 as a Regiment of Sardinia, he became, in April 1816, the Cacciatori Guards Regiment and in 1831 the 2nd Cacciatori Regiment, framed together with the 1st Grenadier Regiment in the "Guardie" Brigade.

It changes its name again in 1848 in the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment (Guard Brigade), in 1871 in the 2nd "Grenadiers of Sardinia" Regiment, in 1881 in the 2nd Grenadiers Regiment (Brigade Grenadiers of Sardinia).

With the order of 1926, taken the name of 2nd Regiment "Grenadiers of Sardinia", it is assigned to the 21st Infantry Brigade then in 1939 it enters with the 1st grenadiers and the 13th artillery in the Infantry Division "Grenadiers of Sardinia" (2l ^), large unit which was later dissolved on 10 September 1943 in Rome.

With the restructuring of the Army, the 2nd Battalion of the suppressed 1st Regiment, the 2nd Mechanized Grenadier Battalion "Cengio", to which the Regiment's Flag and Traditions are entrusted, began on October 1st 1976.
On 19 October 1992 the battalion entered the reconstituted 2nd "Granatieri di Sardegna" Regiment and in 1996 moved to the Spoleto (PG) headquarters.

Currently the Flag of War which boasts a Military Order of Italy, a Gold Medal, three Silver and one Bronze for Military Valor, and a Bronze Medal for the Army Value, is kept by the Commander of the Brigade, waiting to reconstitute the regiment in the Spoleto (PG) headquarters.

The National Shooting Section of Civitavecchia, like most of the other sections in Italy, was also born for military purposes following the push of Giuseppe Garibaldi, which led to the establishment of the federal structure of the national shooting ranges, whose purposes were those to "take care of the instruction on the use of weapons and to cultivate the exercise of shooting".
The National Shooting Section of Civitavecchia, as a public body, is authorized to issue certifications for the handling of weapons for working use (Sworn and related guards) and for personal defense and sports activities.
There are over 700 shooters registered in the Civitavecchia Section, many are members of the Police Force, others are simple amateurs who practice shooting at an amateur level but many are those who practice the activity at a competitive level.
In addition to personal weapons, members can also use weapons made available by the section.
The plant consists of two m-lines 25, 8 m 50 lines for firearms, and 6 m 10 lines for compressed air weapons, structures that require continuous maintenance with significant costs.
Civitavecchia, and in particular the San Gordiano district, has been one of the cornerstones of UITS for many years as it is home to one of the most important Olympic training centers.
Among the international athletes who have trained in Civitavecchia, the presence of Niccolò Campriani, the first blue to obtain the pass for the London 2012 Olympic Games, must be registered.

Reggimento "Cavalleggeri Guide" (19°)

Cavalry regiment with an exploration vocation, it is made up of a regiment command, a logistic support squadron and an armored squadron group, the unit's operational counter.

Powered among the first in the Cavalry Weapon with volunteer personnel, the regiment is stationed in Salerno.
The banner is decorated with a Gold Medal for Army Valor, a Silver Medal for Military Valor, a Silver Medal for Army Valor, two Bronze Medals for Military Valor and a Silver Medal for Civil Valor.

The regimental feast falls on June 24, the anniversary of the battle of Custoza (1866) where he earns the Silver Medal for Military Valor.
