What is Layer 2?
A Layer 2, also known as the Data Link Layer, is the second level in the seven-layer OSI reference model for network protocol design. It is responsible for transferring data between adjacent network nodes in a wide area network or between nodes on the same local area network. In the context of blockchain technology, Layer 2 refers to an off-chain network or technology that is built on top of a Layer 1 blockchain to improve its scalability and efficiency.Layer 2 solutions help reduce the load on the primary blockchain by handling part of its transactional burden and then reporting back to finalize the results.
Callisto Evolution To Fushuma: Migration Results, Airdrop And Staking Unveiled
- Building a Transparent Tomorrow on the Foundations of the Past.
Fushuma launched a migration program to provide Callisto Network participants a simple and fair way to transition into the new Fushuma ecosystem [codename Callisto Evolution]. For more details about the Callisto Evolution, click here.
The migration served two primary purposes:
1. Enable Callisto Network investors and community members to follow the team into this new initiative that ensures a competitive position in the blockchain space and to be part of the growing ecosystem.
2. Ensure Fushuma’s decentralization from day one; by leveraging Callisto Network’s Proof-of-Work model, which has decentralized CLO supply since its launch in 2018, Fushuma inherits the strengths of a widely distributed base.
To support this, 24% of the FUMA supply (5,040,000,000 tokens) was allocated to the migration. This allocation was to give any Callisto Network participant the opportunity to migrate during the six-month migration window.
Migration Results
During the migration process, 331,567,071 $CLO and 38,474,231 $CLOE were migrated, resulting in the minting of 1,101,052,105 $FUMA tokens. An additional 1,101,052,105 $FUMA tokens were allocated as a bonus (equivalent to 100% of the migrated amount).
In total, 2,202,104,210 $FUMA tokens will be distributed to migrators, representing 44% of the allocated supply of 5,040,000,000 $FUMA.
The remaining 2,837,895,790 $FUMA from the initial bonus allocation will be distributed according to the Fushuma tokenomics.
Undistributed Bonus Allocation
- Migrators Undistributed Bonus: 1,101,052,105 $FUMA.
- ICO Undistributed Bonus (5%): 141,894,789.7 $FUMA.
- First Round Allocation (FIP-2): 75,000,000 $FUMA (100% bonus).
- Second Round Allocation: 66,894,789.7 $FUMA (Details to be announced).
- Treasury Undistributed Bonus (35%): 993,263,528.1 $FUMA.
- Airdrop Undistributed Bonus (10%): 283,789,579.5 $FUMA.
This leaves a remaining supply of 1,418,947,872 $FUMA, reserved for distribution through staking rewards.
FUMA Token Airdrop
FUMA tokens will be distributed via an airdrop on the Fushuma blockchain. A snapshot of Callisto Evolution token holders has been taken on January 13th, 2025, at 19:00 UTC on Callisto Network, and the airdrop will follow the release schedule determined during the migration phases. The snaphot results can be seen here.
Cliff and Vesting Periods
The migration was conducted in four phases, each with a specific release schedule, including cliff and vesting periods. These schedules will start with the platform’s official launch date:
Below is the release schedule as previously announced:
- Phase 1 (CE 1): Cliff: 1 Month. | Vesting: 6 Months.
- Phase 2 (CE 2): Cliff: 3 Months. | Vesting: 12 Months.
- Phase 3 (CE 3): Cliff: 6 Months. | Vesting: 15 Months.
- Phase 4 (CE 4): Cliff: 6 Months. | Vesting: 18 Months.
Introducing FUMA Staking
To reinforce decentralization and ensure equitable distribution, 1,418,947,872 $FUMA tokens will be allocated to a staking rewards pool. This staking mechanism will encourage active participation and reward long-term commitment within the ecosystem.
Staking allows participants to lock their tokens and earn additional $FUMA rewards over time. This mechanism ensures fair access to FUMA for anyone interested in contributing to the ecosystem.
The Role of Staking in Decentralization
1. Open to All: Anyone with FUMA tokens can participate in staking, ensuring a wide distribution of rewards across diverse participants.
2. Effort-Based Rewards: Staking requires participants to lock their tokens, creating a fair system where rewards are earned through active involvement rather than passive ownership.
3. Sustainability: The gradual release of staking rewards aligns with Fushuma’s long-term ecosystem stability and community empowerment philosophy.
The objective is to make staking both accessible and rewarding, and a comprehensive explanation of the FUMA Staking protocol will be shared in due time.
