March 2018: TokenPay, a blockchain payments developmental company that works on advanced security and privacy technologies, announced that they had partnered with Verge as they contributed over 66.5 million XVG to the Verge crowdfunding campaign. This partnership was very instrumental for Verge as they went on to benefit from TokenPay’s partnership with a German bank (covered beneath). The two projects are working together to bring many TPAY (TokenPay coin) integrations together with Verge.

April 2018: TokenPay Swiss AG, the parent company of TokenPay, announced that they had a partnership deal with WEG Bank in Germany. The deal involved TokenPay acquiring 9.9% of the bank with options to purchase 90% overall after customary regulatory approval as, under German law, no entity can own more than 9.9% of a bank without regulatory approval.

The bank intended to implement the TokenPay blockchain technology immediately as it prepared to onboard customers from the TokenPay and Verge communities. With WEG on board, they had suggested that traditional debit cards would be available for all account holders, allowing XVG users to spend Verge in a traditional manner.

April 2018: After months of speculation about who the new mysterious partner was for Verge, it was announced that it was MindGeek, the parent company of PornHub. PornHub is the number one destination for adult entertainment and is the 36th most visited website in the world. This partnership now allows users to subscribe to PornHub Premium, their HD On-Demand streaming service, by using the anonymity provided by the Verge cryptocurrency.

It actually turns out that MindGeek approached Verge first and not the other way around as the adult entertainment giant was in search of a coin with a focus on privacy and security. However, Verge had to prove to MindGeek that they had a solid community and, therefore, they launched the crowdfunding campaign aimed for users to donate XVG to future marketing ventures and Verge integrations. They managed to raise around 75 million XVG ($3 million) and the partnership was born.

MindGeek owns a bunch of companies in the adult entertainment sector including RedTube, Playboy, MOFOS, and Brazzers. As a result of this partnership, Brazzers, the pornographic production company, and Nutaku, the world’s largest adult gaming platform, also announced they would be accepting XVG as a means of payment for their services.
