In this piece, I dive into each and every one of Brave & BAT’s partnerships to give you all the juicy details worth knowing about.
Before we dive in, I’ll give you a quick summary of BAT & Brave:
Brave offers its users a fast, privacy-oriented web browser, combined with a blockchain-based digital advertising platform powered by the Basic Attention Token (BAT) cryptocurrency.
Brave Browser users benefit from a better, private, secure, less cluttered, and faster web experience and earn BAT tokens just for browsing the web. Additionally, Brave users can tip their favorite content creators with BAT and opt-in to privacy-preserving Brave Ads to earn more.

Partnerships in Detail:
1. WayBack Machine
February 2020: The WayBack Machine and the Brave Browser entered into a partnership to fight “page not found” 404 error messages. Through this partnership, Brave Browser desktop users may never have to see this message again as they can choose to be directed to an archived version of the page that’s not found. This partnership further improves user browsing experience on the Brave Browser.
The WayBack Machine is a digital archive of the World Wide Web, founded by the Internet Archive in 2001. The archive enables users to explore more than 418 billion web pages that have been saved over time.
2. TAP Network
March 10, 2020: Brave Browser and TAP Network have entered into an exciting partnership that enables Brave desktop users to redeem Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for real-world rewards offered by over 250,000 top brands and merchants in the TAP Network. The partnership makes token utility redemption a reality for Brave users and connects brands with a new audience of Brave users.
TAP Network is a Rewards-as-a-Service marketplace technology company that aims to bring rewarding opportunities for the everyday consumer. TAP Network connects consumers with more than 250,000 brand partners in travel, dining, entertainment, and retail. TAP Network users can simply shop to earn rewards and then redeem them when shopping again.
December 21, 2019: Basic Attention Token (BAT) and Access79 have partnered together to offer BAT & Brave fans custom limited edition BAT rings and BAT dog tag necklaces. Access79 has been advertising on the Brave platform since September 2019 and entered this collaboration with Brave to further promote its jewelry website and the Brave Browser.
Access79 is a try before you buy luxury jewelry service that presents buyers and gifters with an exciting new way to shop for fine jewelry. Access79 jewelry is made with high-quality materials made from a mix of independent designers across the United States and Canada.
August 20, 2019: Brave Browser has partnered with Yubico to bring Yubikey support to Brave for iOS. Yubico’s Yubikey authenticates who you are with a single touch and also verifies the identity of the site you are logging into. Through this partnership, Brave now offers phishing-resistant authentication with the YubiKey to Brave users.
Yubico is a leading provider of hardware authentication security keys — devices that protect logins to online accounts from phishing, man-in-the-middle, and other threats of account takeover. Yubico’s Yubikey is being used to protect 4,000+ businesses and the world’s leading brands.
January 29, 2019: Cheddar and Brave Browser have partnered to provide free subscriptions to premium Cheddar content for users of the Brave browser. This partnership will see that Brave Browser users automatically receive access to premium Cheddar content for 3 months. Users who visit Cheddar.com using the Brave Browser are automatically recognized and gain access to the live Cheddar feeds.
Cheddar is a leading post-cable networks news, media, and entertainment company with its programming available on 60% of smart TVs in the US and Facebook. Cheddar programming is also available on Sling TV, DirecTV NOW, Hulu, YouTube TV, Sony PlayStation Vue, Snapchat, fuboTV, Philo, Amazon, Twitch, and Twitter.
6. XDA Developers
March 29, 2019: XDA has partnered with the Brave Browser for the purpose of promoting Brave and recommending its large web developer user base switches to the Brave Browser. XDA is urging its web developer members to use the Brave Browser and enable BAT tipping on the XDA site.
XDA Developers is a valuable website for developers and created by developers. The website is a member-based site with a community of developers that showcases the groundbreaking development and discussions going on about Android, Windows Mobile, and more.
7. Dow Jones Media Group
April 18, 2018: Dow Jones Media Group partnered with Brave Browser to offer free premium content to Brave users and to test Brave’s blockchain-based payment technology. The free premium content part of the partnership was offered for a limited time to Brave users on a first come first serve basis. The partnership agreement also included that Barron’s and MarketWatch become verified Brave publishers.
Dow Jones Media Group is a global provider of news and business information that delivers content to consumers and organizations around the world in the form of print, digital, mobile and live events. Dow Jones has been delivering content for more than 130 years and is one of the largest newsgathering operations globally.
8. Townsquare Media
May 3, 2018: Townsquare has entered into a strategic partnership with the Brave Browser to monetize ad-blocking traffic and test blockchain-based digital advertising. Townsquare is very interested in Brave’s ad-blocking technology and partnered with Brave to re-engage ad-blocking users. As part of the partnership, visitors to Townsquare Media using ad-blocking technology will receive an offer to switch to the Brave Browser.
Townsquare Media is a radio, digital media, entertainment and digital marketing solutions company that’s focused on becoming the premier local advertising and marketing solutions platform for small and mid-sized markets across the United States.
September 21, 2018: Civic has partnered with Brave to offer secure identity verification services on the Brave publisher platform. Civic’s identity verification and other know your customer (KYC) services are now provided to Brave’s verified publishers if they choose to use it.
Civic (CVC) is a cryptocurrency project that offers blockchain identity-verification technology that allows consumers to authorize the use of their identities in real-time. Civic’s mission is to provide on-demand, secure, and low-cost access to identity verification services via the blockchain.
10. HTC Exodus 1
December 11, 2018: HTC has partnered with Brave to use its ad-blocking Brave web browser as the default option for surfing the web on the HTC Exodus 1 blockchain phone. With the Brave Browser as the phone’s default web browser, HTC phone fans will become accustomed to Brave and help to grow its user base.
HTC Exodus 1 is a crypto phone that combines the usability of the smartphone and the security of a hardware wallet. HTC Exodus 1 smartphone users can easily buy, receive, and store crypto assets on the phone, without the risk of hacking and other forms of malware.
11. YouTube Stars: Bart Baker & Philip DeFranco
April 27, 2018: YouTube stars Bart Baker and Philip DeFranco have partnered with the Brave Browser to promote Brave and the Basic Attention Token platform as a new model that reconnects creators with their audience. Baker and DeFranco, who respectively have over 10 million and 6 million YouTube subscribers have expressed to their following that they are looking for new ways to fund their activity through Brave and BAT.
Bart Baker has over 10 million subscribers on YouTube and has experienced severe monetization issues on YouTube. Baker has expressed that he believes that Brave and BAT are going to help him monetize his content significantly.
Philip DeFranco has over 6 million subscribers on YouTube and has expressed to his audience that Brave provides a cleaner, faster, and secure browsing experience that cares about content creators and their audiences.
12. The Giving Block
October 4, 2019: The Giving Block has partnered with Brave to provide ad inventory and test use cases for their partner charities and nonprofits. With this partnership, Brave Browser users can easily donate to a wide variety of charities and nonprofits with the click of a button on the Brave Browser.
The Giving Block is the first and only solution that enables charities and nonprofits to accept donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The Giving Block enables these organizations to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with an automatic sell function that converts crypto donations to cash. The Giving Block also provides charities and nonprofits with a new market of donors, being crypto holders.
October 30, 2019: Everipedia has entered into a strategic partnership with Brave which will see that Brave is featured on Everipedia and that Everipedia Ads are featured within the Brave Browser. The partnership will see both Brave and Everipedia make efforts to boost both brands among their respective communities and it is the first step towards a deeper collaboration.
Everipedia is the world’s largest peer-to-peer blockchain-based encyclopedia that incentivizes content creators by making them stakeholders in the knowledge base themselves. It is essentially a “fork” of Wikipedia that was established in 2015 and already has millions of monthly unique visitors and millions of wiki articles.
October 3, 2019: Brave has partnered with Uphold to launch a wallet that rewards users with Basic Attention Token (BAT) for browsing on Brave. With this partnership, Brave users that earn BAT for browsing on Brave can convert their earned BAT tokens to many digital assets and fiat currencies when they sign up with the digital money platform, Uphold.
Uphold is a digital money platform that provides customers around the world with easy access to traditional currencies, digital currencies, and other investments. The platform has more than 1 million users and has powered more than $5 billion in transactions across 184 countries, covering over 50 currencies and four commodities.
