Demon Eater

By MarvinScottMarvin | Wordplay Whatnot | 25 Sep 2021

One day while the demons were busy
Gnawing away at my backside,
I had an epiphany and realized,
Though the demons did bite,
They could not actually eat me.
Except for my attention,
I could not be consumed.
And I began to wonder
If perhaps I could
Eat the demons.
So I turned myself around and bit down.
All of us were surprised,
The demons and I,
To suddenly and unexpectedly learn that
The demons are digestible
And I have a talent for chewing them down.
So now I eat demons
And I shit out perfect angels.
I swallow the demons and the fear
Disappears as I absorb their energy
Within the infinite interior of my self.
The demons find themselves enslaved
Conquered and bound to my will,
The terrors of yesterday converted
To the strength of today.
