Sometimes, when we start the day, like any other day, we won’t realize that something is about to happen that will change the course of our lives altogether.
There are definitely some decisive moments that may not seem very relevant and influential at the moment, but when we look back and review our past, we understand how far a decision, a move, or even an accident can be a matter for the way we continue living our lives in the future.
When I first came to the lush northern city of Talesh, I had only one friend and I didn’t know anyone else here. I had told my friend many times that I wanted her to introduce me to a group of nature-loving athletes. Well, in all fairness, she didn’t ignore my request but I couldn’t do much.
Until one day we happened to pass by my friend's father's shop, at my friend's insistence we entered the shop to say hello.
I was embarrassed to meet my friend's father, but I decided to stop being shy so much and we entered the shop. As we started a conversation, I told that I wanted to find friends to accompany me on the mountains and hiking trips if it is even possible.
My friend also took the opportunity to start praising my abilities. My friend's father thought for a while and said: “I know people with whom you may want to go hiking...”
Then we left the shop with him and a little further on, we entered another shop. There were people gathered there with unfamiliar faces, and I was embarrassed in the presence of these men whose language I did not even understand well. But my friend and his father spoke on my behalf and magnified my desire for hiking and my abilities …
And it was there that those strangers whom I have shied away of that day, and among whom I couldn’t even lift my head, have become my constant friends and companions today.
I go to the mountains with them at night. I walk the lands far and near side by side them and I ride my bike to the plains, the sea, the mountains, and everything went beyond all my expectations and dreams …
And how gorgeous are the pristine lands, and even more beautiful is the enduring friendship and empathy that still delights one in this deadly lonely world , at this suffocating times…
