In Margalla hills many species of woodpecker are found but Fulvous breasted woodpecker is most allusive to find. This woodpecker mostly visits Margalla in summer and after short stay they migrate again. I have been in search of this woodpecker for years and finely last week, I succeeded to get some decent close shots. In Fulvous breasted woodpecker male has red color on head and female has black color, hope in my next trip to Margalla, I will find female woodpecker.

Pakistan includes a total of 786 bird species, of which 39 are rare. The chukar is the official national bird of Pakistan, and the shaheen falcon is the symbolic icon of the Pakistan Air Force. This "Wildlife of Pakistan" blog is mainly the record of my birding experience in different locations of Pakistan mainly in Margalla Hills, Islamabad.
