Oooo... Massive question posed to me earlier... I shall share: Should I Or Should I Not Dox Myself If I Create And Sell NFT Art?

Beyond The Universe by Along Tusk

Intro over... Hello there, my lovely internet friends. Today, we're going to talk about a little buzzword that's been making waves in the NFT world: Doxxing. Here... let me break it down for you in some simple words, without any copy-pasting nonsense.

Doxxing, my technologically curious friends, is when someone exposes your personal information online without your permission. This info can range from your name and address to your bank details and all that private stuff.

Okay we will usually do a... "I know you're all wondering..." around this point - "Writer of this article, my dear maverick, if I create and sell NFT's, would I benefit from doxxing?" - Well, here's the Happy Meal Deal... Some say that doxxing yourself can establish trust and add value to your NFT's. But at the same time, it can be a colossal mistake that opens you up to harassment, identity theft, and even a dip in the value of your NFT's... Some might say...

For instance not too long ago, in February of 2022, a music group known as Primal Scream sold their NFT of an unreleased song for over a million British pounds after doxxing themselves. By revealing their identity to the world, they established trust with fan buyers and added value to their creation. But then again... you must remember that doxxing yourself does not necessarily guarantee success. It could also backfire and put you in big danger, my dear comrades...

In April of 2022 - a group of audatious hackers doxxed some prominent NFT collectors, including the founder of OpenSea, one of the most popular NFT marketplaces out there. This put their personal info on blast, from their social security numbers to their phone numbers and addresses. Needless to say, this caused quite an uproar within the NFT community... Yer ouch!

This alone demonstrates that doxxing is no laughing matter at all... It's important to take as many security measures to protect your personal information and other private data to avoid putting yourself at risk, even if it might seem appealing for business reasons... really do a good think session.

I do have to point out that there are some good examples of doxxing as well. Take artist Trevor Jones, for example. After selling his NFT artwork for a whopping $3.5-million, he decided to reveal his identity to the world. By doing so, he was able to establish a deeper connection with his buyers and show them the face behind the artwork... Where the heck is Banksy these days anyway?

So, my Interwebs matey mates... it really does just boil down to weighing up the pro's and con's before deciding whether to dox yourself if you're in the NFT game. It's a big decision that requires careful consideration, as the outcome can be either fruitful or disastrous.

It is I suppose individual choice... may be a company collective? Admittedly doxxing is a bit of a double-edged sword... Certainly Doxxing is not something I can advise to you personally. It can be beneficial in some instances, but also incredibly dangerous in others. So, stay safe out there and think twice before taking this risky step.

And with that, I bid you adieu, my fellow free thinkers and non-conformists of the conspiracy world of Cryptocurrency .. or maybe not lol. Stay wild and curious, and always remember to question the mainstream money narrative. Peace out, my loves.
