Buckle up, we are about to be quite airborne in Aquarius! I don’t know about you, but the energy lately has felt a little wild and windy - but with the looks of our next new moon flying in on February 11th, along with some other BIG astro-happenings, it is no surprise that you might be feeling a bit cloudy.
Pretty much everyone I know is heavily tuned into and affected by the energy in the air at any given time. Lately, I have been curious about the relationship between this susceptibility, and the need to stay grounded and centered to not only practice strong Craft, but also maintain energetic health.
This ongoing, developing understanding of the dance between deep feeling and healthy autonomy feels extra potent as we embark on the Age of Aquarius (more on this in a moment). I want to begin this week by offering the following journal prompts to dip a toe into how this dance shows up for you:
What the Heck is a Stellium?
You might have seen this word flying around lately, and I am here to say it is one of my favorite words ever. Highly considering naming a future child, or dog, Stellium.
I’ll begin this little astro lowdown by revisiting the not-so-tiny occurrence that happened back on December 21st...The Great Conjunction.
essentially- Jupiter and Saturn met up in Aquarius and it was a REALLY BIG DEAL..like, first time since 1405 big deal. Many astrologers and Witchy wise-humans saw this as the beginning of the Age of Aquarius, which is only growing stronger now as we swim in the water bearer’s sea towards this Stellium and New Moon on February 11th.
A Stellium is when three or more planets meet up in a particular sign at the same time.
This month, there are seven planets/asteroids lining up in Aquarius: Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, asteroid Pallas, the sun and the moon. When this happens, we can expect an extremely heavy magnification of the energy of Aquarius.
Aquarius is an air sign, invested in advancement, freedom and the collective.
There is a very interesting duality with Aquarius between the deep celebration and dedication to individual beliefs & rebellion against the status quo, paired with an incredible investment in serving the collective and humanitarian efforts. So, basically a big “see ya later” to the traditional way things have been going and a push towards (fingers crossed) actual progress. Aquarius is also associated with technological advancements, invention, and new ways of seeing the world.
It is important to note that Mercury is retrograde until February 21st (began on January 30th) - so while much of this energy is flowing forward...you may feel some murky waters pulling the tide elsewhere.
With all of this heightened energy, things are bound to feel a bit like you are trying to fly through a cloud.
To me, an example of this in our collective world right now is the vaccine distribution process. There is so much excitement and advancement in our ability to now have this vaccine, but the actual process and organization of how the advancement is flowing along could definitely be described as “rough waters” in many areas of our world.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a clear cut answer for how to smooth out the waves of this tumultuous time. However, I am personally trying to explore the river analogy with how I am approaching life right now. I am trying not to fight the current, and I am trying to be very selective about which waterways I do choose to ride.
