Kaidro Ends Its Play-to-Airdrop Era With Final KDR Drop on September 4
Kaidro is bringing its current Play-to-Airdrop chapter to a close after 25 months, ending the programme alongside Synergy, the Spin Wheel, and KDR staking on September 4, 2026.
The transition marks a major change for Kaidro’s Web3 ecosystem, but the studio says it is not the end of KDR or its broader blockchain plans.
The final KDR airdrop from the project’s initial distribution phase will also take place on September 4, while eligibility will be based on a snapshot taken on August 30, 2026.
Final KDR Airdrop Arrives September 4
The third and final KDR airdrop is scheduled for September 4 at 9:00 AM, with the August 30 snapshot determining who qualifies.
Activities carried out after the snapshot do not affect the allocation. Kaidro says additional details about eligibility and the claiming process will be released separately.
KDR staking will also close on September 4. New stakes and automatic restaking will no longer be available, although existing positions can still be accessed.
Players with staked KDR will have until December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST to unstake and claim their tokens.
The amount users receive depends on when they unstake. Stakes that have reached their claimable point return the original KDR along with the applicable staking reward. Those unstaked earlier receive only their original KDR without the staking reward.
Pending NFT rewards will also be converted into KDR based on the token’s value on September 4.
KDR Is Not Being Shut Down
Although the Play-to-Airdrop programme is ending, Kaidro says the KDR token itself is not going away.
The studio described the change as an “evolution point” rather than the end of its Web3 journey.
Future KDR allocations will continue to be reserved for the community and distributed through opportunities connected to Kaidro’s games and other media.
The project is moving away from using KDR primarily as a standalone participation reward and toward integrating the token more naturally into the wider Kaidro ecosystem.
Kaidro: Clan Battles Takes Centre Stage
Development is continuing on Kaidro: Clan Battles, an RPG and shooter hybrid developed by US studio Gadget-Bot and built on the Ronin network.
The game features strategic 3v3 battles, customizable Spark Suits, clan-based gameplay, different armour configurations and abilities connected to Spirit Guardians. Players can also craft weapons through in-game Unions.
Spark Suits serve as the ecosystem’s foundational NFTs and are tradable through the Sky Mavis marketplace. The game is currently available on Steam and is in its fourth Open Alpha.
But Kaidro’s plans extend beyond gaming.
The project originally began as the webtoon Kaidro: The Awakening, with the studio continuing to develop the wider intellectual property through books, creator content and other media.
From Play-to-Airdrop to a Broader Ecosystem
Kaidro’s decision to end its Play-to-Airdrop programme represents a significant shift in its Web3 strategy.
For more than two years, the programme used participation-based rewards to drive activity around the ecosystem. With that system now ending, Kaidro will need to keep its community engaged through the games and entertainment products it is building.
KDR launched on December 18, 2024, on Ronin and trades through Katana DEX. Around 35% of the total token supply was allocated to community rewards, including Play-to-Airdrop events and tournament prizes.
Now, the focus is shifting from earning KDR simply by participating to making the token part of a larger gaming and entertainment universe.
The final Play-to-Airdrop chapter ends September 4—but Kaidro says its Web3 journey is only entering a new phase.
