AFK Heroes has officially entered Season 3 with a complete reset, putting every player on an equal starting line while significantly increasing the rewards available.

The Solana-based idle RPG went live with Season 3 on August 28, 2026, resetting every hero to Level 1. The leaderboard is empty, the map has been untouched, and both new and returning players now have the opportunity to compete from the same starting point.

The biggest attraction, however, is the reward pool, which is now three times larger than Season 2.

The studio’s message is simple: fresh start, fair shot, more to earn.

Why the Season 3 Reset Matters

A complete reset is a major decision for an idle game.

Unlike traditional games, idle RPGs are built around accumulated progress. Players can continue making progress while away from the game, meaning early adopters can build a significant advantage over newcomers.

Season 3 removes that advantage.

With every hero returning to Level 1 and the leaderboard starting from zero, new players aren’t forced to chase accounts that have been progressing for months. Everyone has to rebuild, unlock zones and strengthen their heroes from the beginning.

The untouched map also plays an important role.

AFK Heroes features progression zones that unlock at different levels, including Frozen Spire at Level 40, Molten Foundry, and Singularity Vault at Level 90 and above. Each zone comes with its own challenges and bosses.

With the reset, players once again have to work through this content rather than having experienced accounts simply bypassing earlier progression.

What Season 2 Brought to the Game

Season 3 builds on the systems introduced during Season 2, which launched on July 24, 2026.

Season 2 expanded AFK Heroes with several major features, including:

• Guilds
• Crafting
• Tournaments
• Player-versus-player combat
• Server-wide zone bosses
• The Powerball feature

Guilds also became an important part of the earning system, with members able to receive up to 25% additional AFKHERO.

The reward system was also adjusted to take a player’s Hero Power Level into account. Stronger heroes can receive larger portions of the reward pool, although the studio has not publicly disclosed the exact weighting formula or a maximum reward ceiling.

More Ways to Boost Earnings

Season 2 also introduced an Earning Boost multiplier of up to 80%.

Players can increase their potential rewards through activities such as token deposits, holding assets, spending in-game and connecting social accounts.

Daily emissions were increased from 5% to 20%, while another 50 million AFKHERO was added to the reward pool.

The scale of Season 2 was already significant.

During its first week, more than 10,000 wallets connected to the game, with approximately 6,000 active players. Deposits reportedly reached 378.9 million AFKHERO, while around 126 million tokens were paid out and the reward pool contained 113.6 million tokens.

How AFK Heroes Works

AFK Heroes is a free, browser-based idle RPG built on Solana, featuring voxel-style visuals.

There is no traditional download or installation required. Players connect a Solana wallet, choose their hero and begin progressing through the game’s zones.

The core gameplay is designed around automation. Heroes fight, collect loot and build Power Level while players are away.

That idle system is particularly important to the game’s reward structure because players don’t necessarily need to remain online constantly to continue progressing.
