Interview with Luffy+Absolute from Promoplanet

Hey, welcome to our next interview.

This time it's with Absolute and Luffy from Promoplanet.

They created the legendary R-Planet Discord and do amazing giveaways each week.

I find both of them absolutely fluffy and adorable.

So, let's go.

1. Hey Luffy and Absolute. If you both had to travel with each other to a lonely island and could only take one thing with you, what would it be?
L: My cat Lucky… So I could eat it. (Just kidding).
A: A knife… 😉

2. You both started the R-Planet Discord and Promoplanet. What was the reason for it?
A+L: The Reason we started the R-Planet Community discord was to create a space where everyone can share and learn what they know about the game. We loved the game when it came out, and wanted to make a community for it where people could branch off and talk about specific elements and/or tools without spamming one channel. There was no Discord so it was pretty easy to get most of the early players the join up.

We made PromoPlanet because we saw our discord was super active in other projects that we thought we would make it easier for them and everyone to find them by making a Hub for them.

3. How long do you know each other?
A+L: 15+ years, we met each other at a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament at a local card shop.

4. If you both would have to choose to live inside a game, which game would it be?

L: I would live in the Yu-Gi-Oh world, traveling around taking peoples cards through battle.
A: Pokémon? That’s like every kids dream.

5. If you both had to start over right now on Wax and had 5000 Wax, in which project would you invest right now?
Luffy: Right now I’m not too sure, Splinters and Farmers world seem like solid bets, Dark Country/Heroes lands if you like passive income with your NFT's.

Absolute: Hard question. Generally, I look for projects that don’t have a big dollar ask, not unlimited pack sales, and set an achievable goal. Good community, good team, and something realistic. Nothing really coming up off the top of my head!

6. What was the biggest disappointment so far for both of you inside the wax blockchain gaming area?
L. I would say how long it takes for a game to come out, and how many of these games are not graphic intensive. I would like more games at the level of AXIE on WAX.
A. I wouldn’t say I am disappointed in anything in the WAX blockchain-gaming area. I actually love how connected so many of these WAX games and projects are connected to each, it’s really unlike any other blockchain. I just wish we had a big NFT-gaming project on WAX that would deliver.

7. Will you two ever start your own game?
A+L: We have talked about it and looked into making games, it is probably something for the future us. Right now we have other things in mind and making a game is not easy.

8. Which will be the next project you two will advertise and work together with?
A+L:I’m not sure since PromoPlanet.io gets a lot of projects asking us to work together in some capacity. Every day, we get something new!

9. What kind of ethical standards do you have, when cooperating with a project? And what's in it for you?

A+L: Depends in what capacity, if it’s a giveaway then it’s a little bit different than a full Twitch Feature. Generally we look for a working Website, Twitter and Discord (no crazy big $ asks). Not having these 3 things is a little tough. At the end of the day we don’t want to be a “gatekeeper” for projects to succeed. For example on WAX, almost all projects started without being whitelisted on AtomicHub... We want to let everyone know about what’s coming up on WAX.

10. You both are starting your own website, what will be the most important thing on it?
The most important thing would be the upcoming drop, we have mostly gamer and investors in our community, and we want a simple hub to help with their discovery and research. If there is an NFT drop coming up, we want people to at least have had the tools to know. The worst feeling is just not knowing.

11. Do you two consider yourself an investor, or gamer?
L: I Consider myself a gamer 1st, i dont really care about money but I enjoy investing since it feels like a game to me as well.
A: I’ve met Luffy at a card game store playing Yu-Gi-Oh and I have been playing games my entire life. But, I also have a business degree in Finance, so I would say both?

12. In which games did you lose and win the most so far?

L: TBH I cant think of a single game I lost on, I always pull the money I put in out of the project, so far they all went up before going down for me!, biggest win was Rplanet.
A: Loss: Dragonary (BSC game)?Holding some CYT bags there. Gain: R-Planet, I was playing since the beginning.

13. How positive are you both toward WAX and WAX-Blockchain games? Are you seeing main competitors for WAX?
A+L: We absolutely love the WAX Blockchain, we have tried them all and it is the easiest entry point for non-crypto/NFT's gamer to join in and start playing without hassle. The CPU can be an issue and most games aren’t very graphic intensive yet, but its still one of the best blockchains out there.
Main competitors to WAX are ETH, and BSC followed by SOL and a few others. If the game is good, we don’t mind on which chain it’s on… But out of all those chains mentioned, WAX is the easiest for non-crypto gamer, especially with AtomicHub and no crazy fees. WAX will take a chunk of that market as things inevitably get bigger.

14. Some are very afraid, that when ETH becomes a proof-of-stake Blockchain and transaction costs will be very low, that it could destroy the main Competitor WAX, what do you think about that?

A+L: I dont think that will be the case, even with proof of stake from ETH it doesnt fix the ease of onboarding, WAX has the easiest account creation of any chain, anyone who doesnt know crypto but likes games will use WAX and will love it. ETH will get bigger but still a long time away from proof of stake and Coke and Pepsi have been around for a long time, so will WAX and ETH.

15. Which Blockchain games are you having the most fun playing?
A+L: We would say Axie Infinity (The actual gameplay, not the gas fees), R-planet during tier 1 and 2 elements and hopefully robots, and Nova Rally Death races is about it right now.

16. Which projects would you both avoid right now to invest in and on which ones are you the most optimistic?
For projects to avoid, we would look at their communities and see how they are being taken care of and how many people are interested. That is generally a good way to find a project that won’t just crash right after you buy it.
For the optimistic investments. We would say NFT-games that have scholarship options, take Axie Infinity as an example -> Find friends/people to lend out your NFT's to (securely of course), and have them. Scholarships make games grow quickly and organically! Many games will come out with that same model of lending NFT's, and those we think will be the most interesting.

17. What do you think about the spinoff R-Planet Lands?

A+L: Seems cool that it uses aether for the drops, we bought some packs but we know just about the same as everyone else so im not sure where the future lies, hopefully its bright for them.

18. Why does only Absolute commentate the racing action on marbles during your streams?
All: We tried one time where Luffy would commentate but it was a failure, he is more the technical analyst type.
Abs: On a side-note, Luffy would absolutely butcher all your names LOL

19. If you guys ever break up, who would take over Promoplanet? Do you have something like a prenup?

A+L: We have been friends for a long time and both have the same idea of creating an empire in the NFT Blockchain space. I don’t think we have any plans anytime soon to put the breaks on this endeavor.

20. Do you guys have any other projects in development, if you do what are they?
A+L: We do have 2 projects in the works. One is a Website called Axiebattles.io where you will be able to battle opponents, free or for SLP.
The 2nd one has to do with Guilds wink.

21. Last question "What do you both want to say to your audience?
Luf: We want to give you knowledge about what’s coming up, give you free NFT's, have fun playing games with us, and if you can make money at the same time, amazing!
Abs: The NFT space is SO new and niche, and it has only just begun. This isn’t crypto in 2017.. We are literally USING the blockchain, and there are going to be so many more projects that come out!
