Interview with Jakooh from NFTDraft.io

Here is the third interview with a founder of a wax blockchain-game.

NFTDraft.io is a new American Fantasy Football Fantasy blockchain game on Wax.

It started succesful last week and here is the interview with Jakooh, the founder of NFTDraft.io Have fun reading.

1. Hey, tell us a little about yourself. Since when are you interested in crypto and NFT's?

I'm a 14 year Army Combat Veteran and Green Beret. I started mining Bitcoin around 2010 but my mining hard drive crashed and I didn't save my wallet info. I took a break from crypto around 2012 and didn't get serious in the space again until 2019.

By the end of 2020 I was 100% divested from stocks and moved into crypto. I dabbled in a few stocks in 2020 namely GameStop and AMC. I first learned about NFTs from news articles in 2020 about Topps NFT's going for millions.

2. When was the first time you had the idea of NFTDraft.io?

I've always had a desire to change every game I play. With fantasy football it wasn't an exception. Annoyed by top heavy tournaments and the same people always winning, large pools of people tying it was just another frustrating game I gave up on.

3. And how long after that did it take you to start your company?

With my new-found crypto wealth I finally had the financial security to start my own company. While fantasy football wasn't my first choice it was the obvious one in terms of ROI and market.

4. Since when do you play Fantasy Football?

I've played on and off since 2012 with moderate results.

5. What kind of changes did you make to Fantasy Football with NFTDraft.io?

The biggest change is using player positions instead of players. The next significant change is using NFT's to represent those positions. Another big one is the ability to play Thursday though Monday in all tournaments and add teams up until game time Monday. There are many other smaller rule changes that add complexity. Also, 5 levels of rarity offering variance in scoring making it difficult for teams to end up in ties.

6. How will it make Fantasy Football better in the future?

All of these changes make it beneficial to the community by adding value through utility to the NFT's. Our focus is on bringing complexity to Fantasy Sports by putting the community first.

  7. Is NFTDraft.io unique compared to competitors?

Absolutely, NFTdraft.io is the first to market with such diverse complexity in allowing NFTs in Fantasy Football tournaments with 5 levels of rarity and returning 50% of pack sales to the community!

8. What kind of unforeseen problems did arise during the beginning of the project?

The hardest part to overcome was finding developers with the willingness to commit to our strict time-line and for a reasonable price.

9. Are you proud of the progress so far?

Yes!  What kind of growth do you expect during the season?      We expect to have a thriving community of 10k by the end of season 1. We've already almost reached that on Discord and just exceeded it on Twitter. Now we'd like to see just as many entries into each tournament.

10. Are you planing any kind of partnership with other WAX-Projects?

We have options available to us and are already doing and done collaborative events.

11. And why did you choose the WAX-Blockchain?

The Wax community is great, thriving, the blockchain is efficient, and it's green thanks to the carbon offset.

12. What are your other favourite WAX-Projects, if you have any?

Several great projects and many more with so much potential.

13.Did you learn from the mistakes other projects did?

Thanks to our community moderators we've had lots of really great input and collaboration with other projects.

14. Are you submitting lineups as well? What would be your lineup for week2 ?

Yes, part of making sure everything is working properly is testing it in production. bea4ea589fd0442e154abd8959ab87c6ec31d4aacf7b0f5c4cb8a8680ca53073.jpg

15. What is your favourite American football team?

I regret saying it, but I root for the Lions. So, I'm no stranger to heartache.  And who will win the super bowl this year?      I try to always root for the underdog. This year if we see Kansas City and Tampa Bay, I'll root for Tampa Bay. With COVID shaking things up I'd love to see some rookies have breakout performances this year and get some different teams to the Super Bowl.

16. Last question, do you think NFT's and crypto blockchain gaming is the future?

I believe blockchain is the future of everything.

Thanks for your time!
