Overview: Take a log raft ride across the Rivers of America as an adventure awaits on Tom Sawyer Island. With many trails and dirt roads and an abundance of rocking chairs and benches in the shade, Tom Sawyer Island is a great place to unwind and relax a little bit while still taking a little adventure!
Ride Length: at your own pace (approx 15-20 minutes)
Handicapped Accessibility: Must be ambulatory.
Tip: Tom Sawyer Island tends to be one of the slower attractions at the Magic Kingdom. Therefore it's a great place to go to relax and to easily find a seat in the shade while letting the little ones run around!
Fun Fact: Walt Disney himself reviewed the original design of Tom Sawyer Island and didn't like what he saw. Therefore he took the plans home one night and re-imagined much of the island landscaping, shape, inlets, and coves that we still adore today!
Other Info: Harper's Mill, Injun Joe's Cave, Fort Langhorn, Potter's Mill, and Tom Sawyer Scavage Fort are the legendary sites that you can explore on your trip to Tom Sawyer Island!
Attraction Overview: You get to Tom Sawyer's Island by raft, and once you make it to the island there are different caves, different places to see, and even some picnic tables to relax and have lunch at! Kids will be able to explore Fort Langhorn and even play with some toy rifles in the lookout points of the fort. You can see all about how people back in Tom Sawyer's day used to live, with one-way-in and one-way-out forts (also an escape tunnel!), bridges made out of old barrels to cross water, and how caves were dug out to explore and find all sorts of precious minerals and even gold!
