The Jungle Cruise

By JFPatriots | Walt Disney World | 2 Aug 2021

Head on over to Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom for some great jungle fun on the world famous Jungle Cruise!  You won't hit your head while seeing the famous 8th wonder of the world, the backside of water!

Thrill Type:  Slow boat ride
Height Requirement:  Any Height
FastPass+: Yes
Overview:  The Jungle Cruise is a guest favorite where you embark on a scenic boat tour through the Amazon in South America, the African Congo, the Nile River, and the Mekong River.  Along the way you'll see a bunch of different animals in their native lands, waterfalls, and the famous...back side of water!  This is a boat ride you won't soon forget with your friendly skipper and his corny...I mean clever...jokes from start to finish!  Be sure to laugh out loud!!
Ride Length: approx 10 minutes
Handicapped Accessibility: May remain in wheelchair.
Tip: Sit near the front of the boat so that you could really hear the skippers jokes!
Fun Fact: Near the beginning of the ride, a piece of a downed aircraft is seen along the shoreline.  This piece of aircraft is the back half of the Lockheed Model 12 Electra Junior aircraft that used to be seen in the Casablanca scene in the Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Other Info:  There are 15 uniquely named boats that are in operation (typically 10 at a time) at the Jungle Cruise.  Those boat names are as follows; Amazon Annie, Bomokandi Bertha, Congo Connie, Ganges Gertie, Irrawaddy Irma, Mongala Millie, Nile Nellie, Orinoco Ida, Rutshuru Ruby, Sankuru Sadie, Senegal Sal, Ucyali Lolly, Volta Val, Wamba Wanda, and Zambezi Zelda.

Ride Overview: The jungle cruise starts off on a tour down fun rivers of the world.  You'll even see some wild animals, the Jungle Book, and Rhinos in the first few sections of the cruise.  As you make your way down the Nile river, you'll hear the famous corny jokes like "the Nile river goes for miles and miles and miles and if you don't believe me, you're ____(fill in the blank, most people say in Denial)____" but then the skipper says "in disbelief."  After that, you'll see some hippos, Jungle people, and then you'll go through the temple where you'll see a tiger, spiders, and snakes.  After that you'll see the elephants at the bathing pool, but it's okay to take pictures because "they have their trunks on."  And finally, you may even see the famous Trader Sam, as he has a special offer for all, one of your heads for two of his!  And last, you'll make your way off the ride on the dock.

The below YouTube video is a POV video of the Jungle Cruise Attraction!  Be sure to listen closely to all of the fun jokes, and try not to hurt yourself laughing too hard!
