Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox have a few funny tricks up their sleeves as they try to catch Br'er Rabbit in this one of a kind attraction that is sure to make a splash!  Head on over to Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World to catch a ride on a log flume type ride in the popular hot day attraction, Splash Mountain!

Overview:  Take a ride in a hallowed out log through Chick-A-Pin Hill with beloved characters and songs from the classic Disney film Song of the South.  Follow along as Br'er Rabbit leaves his snug home in the Briar Patch in search of the laughing place!  But Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox are always close behind and getting themselves into trouble trying to catch Br'er Rabbit!  But once caught, Br'er Rabbit fools Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox into throwing him into the Briar Patch by using reverse psychology and saying "Skin me if you like but please don't throw me into that Briar Patch!" 
Ride Length: approx 10:40 minutes
Handicapped Accessibility: Must transfer to/from wheelchair.
Tip: Don't want to get wet?  Make sure to sit on the left side of the log and duck during the big drop!
Fun Fact:  In the Laughin' Place room, there are little creatures that come down from the ceiling and make a sound.  If you listen closely, you'll hear that the first one says "F," the second one says "S," and the third one says "U."  The programmer went to FSU and paid tribute to his Alma mater!
​Other Info:  Splash Mountain features 5 drops, each moving you along to a different area.  The first small drop brings you to Critter Cave.  The second drop splashes you into the Fishing Place.  The third drop slides you down into the Old Swimming Hole.  The forth drop brings you into Br'er Fox's Lair.  And the last drop, the 50 foot drop where you reach speeds of up to 40 mph, plummets you into Br'er Rabbit's home in the briar patch!

Ride Overview: Once you board your log and the ride starts, you immediately go up a small hill that looks like you are about to embark on the big drop that you see from the path leading up to Splash Mountain.  However, you are actually starting off the ride on a very small drop that brings you around the Briar Patch as you see others plummeting into the Briar Patch!  

After going around that, you make your way up a hill and around the top part of Splash Mountain, seeing different parts where the different animals live.  You make your way down Slippin' Falls and into the Mountain to see the first room that starts to tell the story of Br'er Rabbit.  Br'er Rabbit is a very curious Rabbit and likes to go on adventures.  Meanwhile, Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox are off to try and catch that rabbit using a book called "How to catch rabbits."  And more often than not, they end up catching themselves instead of Br'er Rabbit!  

A small drop leads you into the next room as you make your way to the Laughing Place.  From here you'll see that Br'er Bear gets caught up with a bee hive and honey while Br'er Rabbit laughs at him.  However, Br'er Fox is about to catch Br'er Rabbit at this point!  

As you get dropped again, you start making your way to the last room before going up the mountain to the big drop.  Now this is my favorite part of the ride, the part where there is a conversation between Br'er Fox and Br'er Rabbit as Br'er Rabbit is tied up.  It's sometimes hard to hear, but spoiler alert, I'm about to revel the conversation!

Br'er Fox says one of these two sayings; "Well Br'er Rabbit I'm going to have to Roast you!" or "Well Br'er Rabbit I'm going to have to skin you!"  And the cunning Br'er Rabbit as he is, he replies "Roast me (or skin me) if you want Br'er Fox but pleeease don't fling me into that Briar Patch!"  And then Br'er Fox says "Briar Patch?!?!"  And then Br'er Fox flings you down, plummeting down the 50 foot drop into the Briar Patch which is actually Br'er Rabbits Home!  And the last scene is a fun welcome home party for Br'er Rabbit as he made his way home!  And you'll see Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear trying to get into the Briar Patch but they are too big to fit.  And on the other side of the Briar Patch, Br'er Rabbit is singing Zip-a-dee-do-dah!  The lesson today is Home Sweet Home!
