Tip: There are four separate sections of the train that you can ride in, each with two rows. However, the different cars end up in a different spot than originally started in on the train. For example, if you are riding in the first car, you may end up at the end of the ride in the second, third, or fourth car. So it's important to ride this ride multiple times, as you see many different things depending on which car you ride in!
Fun Fact: This is the first ride at any of the Disney Parks that features Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Other Info: This attraction is in the famous replica of the Chinese Theater. Before Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, a ride called The Great Movie Ride existed in it's place. The Great Movie Ride took you inside some famous movies in a vehicle that was controlled and narrated by the cast member that drove you through the movies. And when your ride vehicle was highjacked by an in-movie actor, you continue to go through some famous movies and your brave narrator saved the day by defeating the hijacker in a scene based on Indiana Jones!
Ride Overview: Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway takes you inside a cartoon onto a train conducted by Goofy! You start off watching Mickey and Minnie Mouse star in the Disney short, Perfect Picnic! In this cartoon, Mickey and Minnie are on their way to picnic in the park and they happen to see conductor Goofy as he makes his way on the train! As Mickey and Minnie drive past the train track, an explosion happens that breaks the screen open and you are now invited to go inside of the cartoon to ride on the train!
Once onboard the train, Goofy starts off transporting you into the cartoon and you happen to see Mickey and Minnie. When Mickey and Minnie hit the track switch by a mistake, the train cars separate from the main train and you are now on a "runaway train!" Here you'll start off seeing Mickey and Minnie in the wild west as they lasso each other up. From then you'll go to a fair where the rollercoaster "the Tornado" comes to life and a giant Tornado starts to suck everything up, including the popcorn! As you pass the tornado, the tornado thrusts Mickey and Minnie into a bush and it's here where they say "nothing can stop us now!" And at that moment, a volcano erupts and Mickey and Minnie start to go down a stream and fall over a waterfall into the ocean! The ocean has some really cool creatures including a trumpet playing octopus. As the water makes it's way down the drain, you'll then go into a work zone where Pete is sitting there using a jackhammer! At this point, you now enter a dance studio with Daisy Duck and you start waltzing. After the Waltz, you then start to Tango your way out of the dance studio. From there, the ride vehicles start moving towards a crusher in a factory, and Mickey and Minnie try and work their way to the switch to turn it off before getting crushed. And finally, Minnie is able to pull Mickey as he is holding on to the switch to shut the crusher off and you are now joined back to the train with Goofy and Mickey and Minnie make it to their Picnic, watching fireworks and enjoying Mickey as he plays the guitar. The ride ends there and you exit the cartoon and go back into Hollywood Studios!
This is a must ride new attraction that is fun for the whole family!
