One of the things I’m always doing when I can, look for new cryptocurrencies out there. Generally, to work, seeking new bounties also… Many friends have asked me where I find new coins, so I decided to make this tutorial to leave registered.

Well, there are many ways to find new cryptocurrencies… But the most popular is using BitcoinTalk. For those who do not know, BitcoinTalk is a cryptocurrency forum, where, too, developers often advertise their new projects.

Creating a WatchList on BitcoinTalk

1 — Create a Bitcointalk account by clicking “register” at the top of the site. Fill out the form with your user, email address, password and finally solve the captcha.

2 — After registration, log in to your account. If by chance gave some error of cookies in the registry, do not worry, as it was successfully carried out and you can log in. Hover over topics you always want to receive news about. You’ll see the board ID, which is this number “https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=x". Make a note of the IDs of the topics you want to add to the watchlist in a notebook.

3 — Click Watchlist, then “watch board” and add the ID number of topics you want to “follow” and click Watch Board again.

4 — Ready! Now you can receive new cryptocurrencies whenever someone posts a new topic on that board you are following. You can check from time to time by clicking on the watchlist again and seeing new topics posted or check your spam box or trash in the email.

To unfollow a board watched, just enter the board ID you want to stop following and click the Unwatch board.

WARNING: Many posts that are said to be from “new coins” may contain viruses or malware. Remember to scan the file whenever possible on the VirusTotal website.

There is also the possibility of you finding a Fake ANN, i.e. a copy of an ann of an existing cryptocurrency with a Malware. Usually, these types of ANNs have the link to a Github similar to the original, but it is not! Care!

NewRewardCoins

This is a site of a fan of new cryptocurrencies just like us, he searches for coins in BitcoinTalk and always lists them on his website, putting their features as algorithms, consensus, mining pools (if any) and social networks. It’s worth a look.

Following a bot on twitter

There is a bot on Twitter that sends you the new cryptocurrency topics posted in Announcements (Altcoins). Just follow the @ubiqannbot and activate the notification bell for it.

As of this article, Ubiq ANN Bot is working… But despite its practicality, there is no greater freedom to filter more content you want such as bounties, through a watchlist or something like that.

Looking for newly listed coins in trackers

This is a slightly safer way, but it doesn’t stop you from finding coins scams, beware again, thoughtfully do your search and study and always seeking safety. Some currencies don’t list first on BitcoinTalk, making it a bit difficult to find them. But at some point, many want to be listed on cryptocurrency monitoring sites like CoinMarketCap or Coingecko. So it doesn’t hurt to look in these places either.

Browse the newly listed coins page of your favorite tracker…
