I can feel my heart pounding in my chest
As I sprint through the streets, trying to outrun the rest
The sirens wail behind me, a constant screech
A reminder that I'm in way too deep
My lungs burn with exertion,
but I push on The rush of adrenaline,
it's like a drug, I'm gone
The wind whipping through my hair,
the thrill of escape
But I know deep down,
this is all a mistake
I dart through alleys, I leap over walls My heart races faster,
as I hear their calls I can see the end in sight,
but it's slipping away The weight of my actions,
it's starting to weigh
But the thrill of escape,
it won't last For the price I'll pay,
it's not worth the rush,
aghast The freedom I feel,
it's only fleeting For the cost of my actions,
I'll soon be bleating
I can see the flashing lights,
they're getting closer The sound of their footsteps,
it's like a boxer I try to outrun them,
but it's no use I'm trapped in a cycle, a constant abuse
The rush of running from the cops,
it's not worth the cost For the price I'll pay,
my life will be lost I'll pay for my mistakes,
in ways I never thought And the rush of running,
it will have been for naught.
