I’m still finding my voice in the content space, but I’ve made a major shift: I’m moving away from generative AI video and toward first-person POV reviews. I had a few videos with absolutely no traction, and so I tested out this new more authentic approach, and well, it's working. I’m keeping them short and simple, focusing on the products I actually use and enjoy.
Yeah, these aren't huge bangers with millions of views. But the feedback is there. It tells me I need to be more authentic and use my own literal voice for this. And that's fine. I can do that. It just means I need to work on my video style and editing. Right now, I'm trying to hold my iPhone to film, while doing everything else with my other hand. Awkward, but it's working better!
Also the other change is Amazon Vine has been a bit thin lately, so I’m widening my format. I’ll still review Vine items, but I’m including things I’ve purchased myself as well. This allows me to dive deeper into the things I’m actually passionate about—specifically, my hobbies.
And within that vein: I’m a bourbon guy. Not just a little, but a lot.
Last time I checked (November 2025), I had 85 open bottles and about 60 sealed. That number has definitely grown since then! It’s officially Spring and "Allocation Season," which means my shelves are getting crowded. One of my recent pickups—which I hope becomes a regular "shelfer"—is the Old Grand-Dad Single Barrel 7-Year (114 Proof).
It is fantastic. You get all the classic OGD 114 notes, but it’s more mature, refined, and noticeably sweeter with deeper flavors. At 114 proof, it’s the perfect "heat" for proof-chasers.
