Recreating the Black Widow trailer with footage from The Incredibles

By PierreL | My Work | 27 Apr 2021

As announced, my new Trailer Mashup is live! I decided to take the most recent Black Widow trailer and recreate it with images from Pixar's The Incredibles. Following what I did for Our Planet, I wanted to try to match the shots as closely as possible to make it more entertaining, that's why I uploaded two videos: the trailer itself and the side by side comparison.

Since some of the titles fade into the next shot, I couldn't just use the same ones, I had to recreate them. I spend quite a lot of time trying to find the perfect font, which turned out to be pretty hard, so I had to go with the closest I could find. The titles were in 3D, with a metallic style, animated and on a smoky/ashy background, so I had to recreate all of this. Fortunately, DaVinci Resolve is fully equipped for all of this. Let me know if you want a tutorial on how to create these effects in Resolve!

Again, I tried making an interesting thumbnail mashup as well, integrating Elastigirl in a Black Widow image and with a custom title using the original font (it's definitely not my best work, but it was harder than I thought to find images of both characters that could be somewhat matched).

Here is the main trailer:

And here is the side by side comparison of the original trailer and mine:

Let me know in the comments what you thought of this one, and don't hesitate if you have a mashup idea that you think would work well with this concept!
