A Better World

if blood was paint then would the world be red

If tears stained would we still mourn the dead

Aren’t we too quick to jump to war for personal gain

While some of our people can hardly afford bread

If hate was dead, Would there be love instead

And peaceful nights for when we go to bed

How great the moment but is it all in my head

A world where no person could be misled

We need a hero but not like Superman

Each one of us could be that person

If we dig deep enough and just say “I know I can”

The world could change with that one confession

It’s starts with you, and it starts with me

The world won’t change unless we will it to be

That’s why I pray, as hard as it seems 

For better days to live out our dreams

A new sun shines over a new day

Like a new born baby that brings a new fate

When the sun sets the moon comes out to play

And the stars follow but even they won’t stay

Change is constant like day and night

And the world, it grows, sometimes bitter

But I’ll hold onto hope that if I’m living right

I could nudge the direction just a little

How could a single soul change the world

They say all it took was a spark

And then BOOM, space shook and planets emerged

Into the light from the dark

And just like a new world when the baby is born

That little spark resides within you

If you have the will to grab life by the horn
