The Crypto world is massively growing and with it bring some problems that are being explored by hackers who use that for threatening victims in order to be paid in Bitcoin or anonymous coins. The criminals explore vulnerabilities found on peoples life as known many have "dirty" secrets locked up on their computer, make the hackers intents more easier to reach.

Sextortion is a blackmail technique used by hackers who sent bulk messages on the web with intent of threatening users exposing their sexual habits online.
To reach their objective of extortion they make the user believe that they have in their records files of the users, and to make more credible they said they have hacked the computer. Clearly a scam, but because peoples have their own "secrets" fall on the scheme and pay determined amounts of Crypto in order to not have their life exposed on web.

Scammers have been in exponential growth with new techniques of extortion it's time to stay alert and report them.When dealing with criminals who suppose have your online material, it's recommended to not panic and get straight to the facts, first get known if the email in some part describe your direct online activity, after that inform the authorities about the blackmail.
