The financial giant BlackRock has set a new record with a holding of over 400,000 BTC, thanks to a continuous influx of capital into its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) ETF fund.

According to the latest report from the market tracking platform Lookonchain, BlackRock has reached a significant milestone, with its total Bitcoin holdings exceeding 400,000 BTC, currently valued at approximately $26.98 billion, or around 403,725 BTC. Notably, in the past two weeks, this asset management company has acquired an additional 34,085 BTC, valued at about $2.3 billion, to significantly bolster its holdings.
Continuous capital flow into the Bitcoin ETF has helped BlackRock solidify its presence in the cryptocurrency market, positioning the company as a dominant force.
With this rapid growth, some have made bold predictions that BlackRock might incite a Bitcoin “war” in the future. They suggest that the company could potentially push for a fork of the original BTC chain and subsequently promote its forked version as the “real” chain, leveraging its substantial financial resources to support this move.
However, top experts have dismissed this notion, calling it a conspiracy theory and asserting that such a scenario is unlikely.
In the near future, BlackRock is expected to continue strengthening its Bitcoin strategy, although it still faces fierce competition from other financial companies like MicroStrategy and Metaplanet in the race to dominate the Bitcoin market.
