Happy new year to all my fellow Publish0xers! As I'm feeling reflective today, I'd like to take a few minutes to review my activity on this platform over the previous year.
I published 10 articles on Publish0x in 2023. That might not sound a lot, but at least it's an increase on the five I published in 2022. (And in my defence, I also published 22 posts on my digital marketing website, two guides on the Wix SEO Hub, and a piece about NFTs for a client.)
More worryingly, all of those P0x articles were published in January to May - I'm shocked to see I didn't publish a single thing on P0x in the second half of the year! I don't know what happened there as I was still an active reader and tipper on the platform.
Most read
Speaking of reading, my most viewed P0x article from 2023 was Binance stops its Earn products for UK customers - including me..., with 8,555 views. The communication from Binance around this move was very poor, so I'm not surprised that lots of people were looking for clarification.
And while I suggested staking in Trust wallet as a non-custodial alternative to Binance Earn, other Publish0x users chipped in with their own recommendations. That's one of the things I love about P0x: every article is a potential conversation starter.
In total, my 10 articles received 21,189 views - that's an average of 2,119 views per article. (I didn't write 10 articles specifically to make the maths easier, but it certainly helps.)
Highest earning
While that Binance article was my most read of 2023, it wasn't my highest earning. That honour goes to Uncryptic is dreaming of all-time highs, which earned me $2.19 in crypto. The article was a thought experiment and an upbeat one at that, so it's good to see that not only bad news sells.
In total, my 10 articles from 2023 earned me $7.62 in crypto over the course of the year - which works out at $0.76 per article. But I also earned from my older articles - and of course from tipping other Publish0x writers throughout the year. While it's a bit hard to work out in retrospect, I think I earned around $17 in crypto overall from P0x in 2023.
OK, that's no way to get rich. But as I enjoy writing and learning about crypto, I see it as a hobby that pays for itself rather than a side gig.
Aim for 2024
My aim for this year is quite modest, and that's simply to beat my performance in 2023. If I can write more than 10 articles, and earn more than $17 in total, I'll be happy. I think that's achievable, especially as I've got the first one in the bag already (you're reading it).
Besides, the real value of P0x isn't in what you write or earn - it's in what you read and learn. Hey, there might be a song in that...
