The COIN geomining app is one of my most reliable ways to earn crypto. Over the past few years I've earned 27,000 XYO - worth around $165 at current prices. OK, that's not going to change my life (yet) but it makes COIN a better option than any faucet I've used.

One of the other things I like about COIN is that it's continually adding new ways to earn its in-house currency, Coin (which can then be exchanged for XYO, other crypto, or physical products). The most recent addition are audio ads.

While you're geomining, watch out for the purple 'audio ads' icon:

Click on this and a 30-second audio ad will play. They're pretty much the same as ads you'd hear on the radio, usually promoting consumer products such as Quaker Oats or Domino's Pizza. Most of them are voice recordings, sometimes with a little jingle too.

For that, you'll earn around 1 Coin (sometimes more, sometimes less). That might seem unfavourable compared to the video ads, which pay out 3-8 Coin each, but the audio ads are much shorter and only require a single click. The video ads aren't just long, but you usually have to 'exit' them when they have finished playing - and the exit button can be small and rather hidden.

The other benefit of audio ads is that they are available to play pretty much all the time. Around 30 seconds after you've clicked the icon and listened to an ad, the icon reappears again.

Silence is golden

One possible downside is that if your phone volume is set to zero, the app will automatically increase it a little for the duration of the ad playing. Now I'm not saying you should do this, but if you've attached headphones to your phone, and you're not actually wearing those headphones, then you won't be able to hear the ad even if the app turns your phone volume up.

Personally, I have my phone next to me with the COIN app open when I'm at my desk working or writing. Every so often, when I take a screen break for example, I can hit the 'audio ad' button and rack up some more Coin without interrupting my flow.

Over the course of a day, I can easily pick up 200 or 300 Coin this way, in addition to all my other COIN app earnings such as geomining. And that sounds good to me.
