Easy Earth Day Activities
Here’s a quick list of ideas on how to celebrate earth day in a fun and meaningful way. From planting trees to reducing your carbon footprint, I have tons of ideas for you!
1. Plant a tree!
One of the best ways to show your love for the earth is by planting a tree. Trees not only help improve air quality, they also help to reduce erosion and provide shade and shelter. You can plant a tree on your own property or in your local community. Just make sure you get permission first!
2. Go for a nature walk.
Take a nature walk and enjoy all that the earth has to offer. Spend time in your local park, go for a hike, or walk along the beach. Take in the fresh air and marvel at the beauty of the natural world around you. If you have kids, bring them with you. Our best shot at saving this planet is to teach the text generation how important it is.
3. Make a sustainable lunch.
Making your own lunches is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. Avoid using disposable items like plastic bags and Styrofoam cups, and choose sustainable materials like bamboo or stainless steel instead. You can also pack your lunch in a reusable container or bag.
If you want to really make a difference, look for locally sourced foods. The fewer miles your food travels, the more sustainable it tends to be.
4. Recycle and reduce.
Recycling is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce your impact on the environment. You can reduce your consumption of energy and other resources by making simple changes like turning off the lights when you leave a room, unplugging electronics when they’re not in use, and driving less.
