So I won't lie, I'm not exactly a fan of Elon Musk, to be honest I don't trust anyone that rich, how could you? I have been consistently skeptical about whether or not it is wise to have a man like Elon running the 🌍 stage, controlling one of the most popular social media giants. However, after using twitter since he's taken charge I have to admit, I do like the platform more. I have gotten into political discussions, religious discussions, talks about sexuality & other topics that would have had me censored/banned within minutes on the old twitter, or basically any other popular social network i use. I've got to give the guy props, I feel as though I do have more free speech, I deal with less bots than before & I'm not constantly worried about speaking up about something I have a strong opinion about, out of fear that my opinion will come with consequences.

The new feature I'm most excited about trying if possible 🤞 is the creator subscription model. Creators on Twitter now have the option (after review) to further monetize their content. Current subscriptions to creators exclusive content costs $4.99 USD. This is a game changer for obvious reasons, it's affordable ✅ the possibilities for paid online services, goods, and exclusive content expands drastically, as creators can create value easily in virtually any way possible. This makes me excited as a musician & artist. I can gate exclusive music & video content as well as behind the scenes content of my processes. I can create merch for superfans that subscribe for X amount of months. The list really goes on here, point is, this is really cool and I am glad main stream social media is finally opening the doors for creators to earn a much larger % of revenue, not needing to rely on ads.

  Creators could add a pay handle or BTC address to their profile to receive tips before, however I found this to be an inefficient way to tip your favorite creators. I feel like for this feature, micro-tipping would have been a much better option, and it should have been an option that was accessible on every creators post, just like a 👍 button. BTC & ETH transaction fees are too high to want to micro-tip content with these currencies as well. In my opinion Elon should work on the tipping feature in the future & since he is such a fan of dogecoin, he should enable micro-tipping posts with dogecoin. This would surely bring value to the $DOGE & long term value to twitter. There are decentralized social options, and I've used a lot of them, bottom line, they aren't trustworthy, and the founders aren't really making any money, so these startups come with a lot of risk the novice investor, or even just the average twitter user, isn't prepared for or educated about. If #cryptotwitter was to ever become a robust ecosystem for creators to monetize in, we need a trustworthy founder, someone we know won't let the company sink given hard times. Twitter adopting crypto as a payment mechanism would be huge ✔️
