Kumamoto Station houses a food hall, where you can find many eateries offering a wide variety of food. So what made me decide on this ramen restaurant called Tengaiten? It was not because the ramen appealed particularly to me even though the menu pictures looked mouth-watering. It was because a long line of customers formed in front of the entrance, many with their luggages in tow. I don’t know whether they queued up because of the monkey see monkey do effect or because the ramen here was famous. But if people were willing to spend time queuing during the peak lunch hour, I can’t go wrong with the ramen. How was the ramen? If you are seeking for the thick decadent tonkontsu-based broth that Kumamoto ramen is known for, you will be disappointed. But if you want something creamy but lighter on your palate, you will like this. Now, you know where to eat at Kumamoto Station!
