I’m sure you have heard of Medium. Some great Publish0x writers, including Patch, PTM and johnwege , have amassed a sizeable number of followers and are earning income from its Partner Program. I have always wanted to jump on the bandwagon but in spite of my regular postings here, I couldn’t think of a topic of specialisation. You know, a niche that I wanna hone and sharpen into an area of expertise.
Until I hit upon the idea of sharing my Japan-inspired travel experiences and adventures. I only lived for two years in Japan and felt that my unfamiliarity with many things Japanese disqualified me from being an authoritative source of information. But recently, I reframed my thinking. I think I can bring something unique to the table because my wife is Japanese and I’m raising two half-Japanese children. There are unique perspectives that I’m privy to, which would interest other people.
Another reason is that as I grow older, I get more concerned about building a legacy, something that will outlast me. Of course, my children are my most important contribution to the world but I also want people to remember my quirks and idiosyncrasies by way of my witty writings.
That’s how I committed myself to writing on Medium. Downloaded the app in fact.

I quite like to use it. The interface is user-friendly, which helps me work on an article on the go. Most importantly, it allows me to just upload photos from my phone. I don’t know about you but uploading photos on Publish0x is quite troublesome for me because I must first find the time to reduce their size. No such problems for Medium.
What I also like about Medium is that it automatically generates an image of your article for easy sharing among others. I was impressed by how sleek and professional it looked.

I already have a body of work that I want to see featured on Medium, so this will be my future plan. You may follow me at medium.com/@soulsensei80. I promise not to cross-post every article on Publish0x so that there is value in you following me on Medium. Haha
