Fukuoka Food Recommendation: Farmer’s Kitchen

Fukuoka Food Recommendation: Farmer’s Kitchen

In Japan, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to eating places, so cafes and restaurants must provide a holistic dining experience to stand out. Farmer's Kitchen, located on the 9th floor of the trendy KITTE OIOI shopping mall, brings its A+ game. This airy cafe boasts a magnificent bird's eye view of the lively happenings around Hakata Station. So, it's no Shibuya Crossing, but there's something therapeutic about watching the locals go about their routine. My son was certainly entertained by the local buses zooming past his line of vision. Illumination enthusiasts could consider patronizing this cafe in the late afternoon – you will be treated to the sight of trees being adorned with purple streaks of light, Fukuoka's signature highlight during winter.

Another way Farmer's Kitchen provides value is its promise of free-flow red tea. What's impressive is that it showcases 10 different types of red tea, so empty your bladder first to avail yourself of the many choices ahead. While my wife and her colleagues chose to indulge in tea appreciation, I was in the mood for dessert, so I ordered an autumn brûlée set. The epitome of refinement whetted my appetite. Farmer's Kitchen prides itself on using seasonal fruits, ensuring the desserts are packed full of fruity goodness. I particularly enjoyed the delicate flavor and mild finish of the purple yam tart – deliciously divine!

I helped myself to the complimentary delightful lemon-flavored water, thankful for the cathartic afternoon Farmer's Kitchen gifted me.
