I haven't worn this suit since my job interviews 2 years ago. Oh, Japan.

Next week marks the end of term of my stint as an executive committee member of JETAA. I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy to let go, haha. Still I took this on during a time when I was embarking on a new job and preparing for my wedding, i.e. starting my life over. It was so integral to my life that I would feel a sense of loss without it.
I wish I had the resourcefulness to make inroads into Japanese companies so that JETAA members, including me, would have a steady stream of translation/interpretation jobs now, haha. Still, I did have some success widening the social circle of both Singaporeans and Japanese people, so I have made some teeny weeny contributions to JETAA.
As the dust settles, I must say I'm quite grateful for the opportunity to work with Japanese people and pick up authentic insights on their psyche. And be privileged to attend some exclusive events that allowed me to switch my mode of thinking completely after work. Trying to speak keigo, putting on my most polite behaviour, bonding over food and drinks - I will miss the chance to 気分転換!
May JETAA rise to greater heights!
