Architecture Marvels in Kumamoto

Kumamoto is home to several architectural marvels.

Kumamoto Castle, which has achieved fame as one of Japan’s top three castles, is distinguished by its steep sloping walls. It was a feature thoughtfully incorporated to deter intruders.

Kumamoto is also home to Tsujun Bridge, an extraordinary bridge that spews out gallons of water. Every summer, curious foreigners travel to this remote place to gawk at gushing water. I was one of them.
