We sail to the islet of Sibuan

We reached the islet of Sibuan by a fast boat from Semporna. It took about 30 minutes. We've been to Pulau Bodghaya, Pulau Mantabuan, and it's time for the last one in our Tun Sakaran Marine Park trip - Pulau Sibuan. We didn't know much about the island, except that like all the villages in the area, it has beautiful beaches and an amazing coral reef. But we didn't know that the natives lived there. Several fishing families with children with whom we stayed for a while. And as it turned out, it was a very nice meeting.

Turtles not supposed to be here
I decided to lap on a coral reef, which, nomen omen, was as beautiful as that of the Mantabuan island. After a while I noticed a swimming water turtle. I think - Like, our guide said that there are no turtles in this area. Then he was wrong. When I showed him the footage from the camera, he was surprised to say the least.

Unexpected nice guests

The sun was burning so mercilessly that I did not dare to dive without a shirt. A few minutes with your back exposed to the sun's rays is a sure dream on your stomach. So after snorkeling, it's time to take a short walk around the island in search of shade. We sat down under a tree and had company before we knew it. Local ladies with children joined us. They didn't want anything, just looked at us and vice versa. It's a mutual curiosity, an attraction for both sides, but I suppose in the case of these local families it's also loneliness, boredom. Because small beautiful islands are nice for a moment, for a few hours, maybe days, then everyday life, routine, longing breaks in. More than a quarter of an hour passed in silence. We had nothing good to serve except peanuts. Ladies and children did not refuse.

Perception of the world through the prism of a water drop
After I finished snorkeling in pursuit of beautiful fish, I did not notice that there was a drop of water on the camera lens. She accompanied me to the end of recording material from my stay on the island. But it was this case that made the recording magical, original, and although not the best in terms of quality, it has a unique charm and message and has become my favorite during my stay in Borneo. I come back to him often. I especially like the moment in the recording where the image of a child drinking coconut water is blurry, it becomes a bit mystical for that moment.

Inviting gesture?
At one point, one of the women made a strange gesture with her hand in my direction - it looked like an invitation to her household. Unfortunately, we didn't use it, because our guide was urging the whole group to come back, but the main reason was probably fear. This mysterious meeting with a beautiful in its way Malaysian inhabiting a tiny island in the sea of Celebes will remain in my memory for the rest of my life.

And this is where we end our adventure with beautiful Malaysian islands. Our next stop is visiting monkeys. First visiting an orangutan hospital.
